In celebration of trees and woodland, we are supporting London Tree Week (27 May – 4 June 2017), with the help of the Mayor of London.

Mindfulness amongst trees Friday 2 June 11.00am-12.15pm Ruskin Park, London SE5 8EL – meet inside the Park at the Denmark Hill pedestrian gate (down the hill, closest to Denmark Hill Station).  A 75 minute mindfulness through movement walk, lead by Health Coach, Mel Sutton. A free event.

A chance to learn some techniques to become more mindful and calm the chattering mind, in the company of health coach, Mel Sutton.  Also discover some of the healing and health aspects of trees.

A core element of Mel Sutton’s Mindfulness through Movement programme is to give you the skills to be mindful in your everyday activities, so you can seek moments throughout the day to be mindful, rather than having to attend a class specific session.

To achieve this we begin by focussing on the breath and the rhythm of the breath, using breathing in and out to calm.  You will then practice a few movement exercises based on Yoga principles to begin to connect to breath and body. This is a powerful way to feel the body and breath and the connection to the earth.

A notebook will be provided so you can record any observations and insight from the event.

Please wear comfortable footwear and bring  a bottle of water if it’s hot. We also recommend bringing minimal bags so you can enjoy this event without carrying too much!

Booking essential as capacity is limited.  Suitable for 16+. Not suitable for children.
