Soundscape recorded during a silent public walk through the Community Gardens of West Walworth led by artist Jane Scobie, organised by Walworth Community Gardens Network as part of the Chelsea Fringe Festival. 20 participants walked in silence for about 50 minutes and the soundscape was produce from recordings taken during the walk. Walking in silence was a strange experience for the participants but once they grew accustomed to it they were surprised by the range of sounds and the feelings they evoked. You can listen to a podcast of the introductory talk and post walk discussion – including a brilliant poem written by Tim Richardson during the walk.
