Constable’s Kitchen Garden 1815

BOOKING CLOSES AT 6.30PM GMT TONIGHT

Spring will be tantalisingly close, with new shoots and bulbs out, and whatever restrictions COVID brings, we at the Museum of Walking are determined to celebrate our streets and gardens.  We are delighted that artist and educator, Grace Adam has joined as a Co-creator to share with us her enthusiasm for how artists have depicted streets and gardens through time. She assures us that there will be some walking route suggestions too, so join Grace to get little Spring in your step.

Grace Adam will explore how artists interpret the idea of gardens; our peaceful retreats to what Art Historian Paul Gough has called ‘planting as a form of protest’. From Constable’s kitchen garden to Hamilton’s wild 7 acres-Little Sparta, from Camden Town painters to Bloomsbury Group artists.

Grace Adam is an artist and lecturer. She trained as a painter, and has an M.A. in Sculpture and Installation from Chelsea College of Arts. She was Fellow at Chelsea, and holds a PGCert. Grace is History & Theory Co-ordinator on BA ID at Chelsea College of Arts.
