Elevenses – join us for tea, biscuits and a STROLL on a WALKSHOP of discovery
Co-curated by the Museum of Walking and PLAYLINK
Tower Hamlets Regeneration and Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park
Thursday 4 December 2014. 11.00 a.m Start at Gardners Cafe just 200 yards from Mile End Underground. Led by Phil Doyle – Place designer
We are inviting people with an interest in an area – geographical or thematic – to lead a group stroll around the thoroughfares and sites that interest them – that say something significant when viewed through their eyes.
In a series of Elevenses walkshops – approximate duration 1.5/2 hours – artists, designers, the streetwise with local knowledge, performers, researchers and writers will share their personal responses to the neighbourhoods in which they either live, work or ‘practice’.
We meet and greet at a local cafe and carry away coffee or tea. Thus warmed and braced for any weather, we begin our wandering, conversational stroll.
Cost to participants: In advance on-line: £15, On the day: £20 : Introduce a friend and get £2 discount (for you and your friend) distributed at the start of the walkshop.
Concessions: (NUS card / Freedom Pass) £7 (in advance and on the day): Introduce a friend get £1 discount (for you and your friend) distributed at the start of the walkshop.
Accompanied children welcome – and may join at no charge. Receipts available on request.
